After more than three years of closure for major renovations, MASI’s Palazzo Reali venue reopens to the public with a presentation of the Museum's collection. This reopening formalises an important achievement, offering MASI a new exhibition setting in addition to the LAC venue, in an architectural space within historic buildings. Palazzo Reali will host exhibitions dedicated to the Collection as well as to international and Swiss artists whose work requires a more intimate and historical setting.

The ground floor presents the history of both institutions that led to the creation of MASI in 2015, the Museo Cantonale d’Arte and the Museo d’Arte della Città di Lugano. The upper floors’ eight rooms and two corridors contain many thematic focuses, linked to specific historical periods, artistic currents and artists. The Portrait, Symbolism, the Return to Order, Photography and Expressionism, are just some of the insights that articulate the exhibition path.
