Red and its symbolic universe are the focus of Vedo Rosso, the new themed exhibition hosted by the Collezione Giancarlo e Danna Olgiati, on from 26 March to 12 June 2022. The show brings together the works of thirty-five artists from different generations, nationalities and cultures, in an immersive journey which explores the meanings and expressive properties of the colour red. It presents thirty-nine pieces, including paintings, photographs, sculptures and installations from the Olgiati Collection, mainly dating from the 1960s to the present day. The show offers a novel angle on key themes and artistic currents in the Collection – from Futurism to Nouveau Réalisme, from Arte Povera to the Italian Transavanguardia movement to New Pop – bringing out new connections between practices that are only apparently irreconcilable, and focussing in particular on the dialogue between contemporary work and the avant-garde movements of the twentieth century.
