Calder. Sculpting Time in Switzerland: this must-see show is at the MASI Lugano during Art Basel and all Summer long together with the exhibitions on Ernst Scheidegger and Shahryar Nashat.

Calder. Sculpting Time is the first comprehensive monographic exhibition in a Swiss public institution devoted to Alexander Calder in nearly fifty years.

Featuring 35 of the artist's masterpieces created between 1931 and 1960, the exhibition explores the profound and transformative impact of this revolutionary artist, delineating his development of a formal and sculptural language characterized by unprecedented innovation, particularly during the 1930s and 1940s.

Designed as an open plan without walls, Calder. Sculpting Time offers the public the opportunity to see works that span Calder’s early abstractions or sphériques to a magnificent selection of later mobilesstabiles and standing mobiles of various sizes.

Coming this autumn Luigi Ghirri - Il viaggio. Fotografie 1970-1991 (08.09.2024 - 26.01.2025) and Le vide et le plein – Yves Klein et Arman, Collezione Giancarlo e Danna Olgiati (22.09.2024 – 12.01.2025).
