On the occasion of the show We Want it All, the dancers of the company ICK Dans Amsterdam offer an open class for dance students focused on the Double Skin/Double Mind method, created by Emio Greco e Pieter C. Scholten.

The DS/DM method was developed by choreographer Emio Greco and director Pieter C. Scholten, founders of the company. It has been taught around the world for many years and plays an essential role in the creation of their shows. It is based on four main principles: Breathing, Jumping, Expanding e Reducing. Through the DS/DM method a new physical and mental awareness will be achieved in which intention and form coincide.

DS/DM is a way of preparing the body for dance in relation to one's own thought and imagination. It needs a connection to one's own choices, even while improvising with other choreographic elements and materials. The experience creates a condition and an openness, it is not something predetermined by rules that say: "this is the way you supposed to dance". It is rather the opposite, you use it and then you contrast it in an open field of action and manipulation.
– Emio Greco

The open class is dedicated to students, it is free of charge and offered by LAC edu.

Applicants must be attending, at the time of their application, a school for professional dancers. Participants will be selected according to the chronological order of arrival of the application.

Information and for submitting requests of participationlac.edu@lugano.ch.

Emio Greco and Pieter C. Scholten are the directors of ICKamsterdam and regularly create their own choreographic works for the corps de ballet which consists of an ensemble of male and female dancers and a junior company, the ICK-Next. They have been working together for more than twenty-five years in the research of a new dance language and a new approach to the body in which, both the "rebellious body" and the triad "performance, body and miracle" are the guiding principles.

In 2021, they received the Golden Swan, presented by Minister van Engelshoven, in recognition of their great contribution to Dutch dance.
