Camilla Sparksss, a Swiss-Canadian multidisciplinary artist, returns to La Regionale with an improvised audiovisual performance on the theme of cyclicality, integrating live the use of endless grooves on vinyl, synthesizers and spoken words.
Her debut album, For You The Wild (2014), is an instinctive blend of 80s dark wave experimental electronic music performed alongside a lo-fi dancer on stage with whom she toured as an opening act for the Jon Spencer Blues Explosion 2014 European Tour. In 2019, she released her second album titled Brutal, a blend of experimental electronic pop and lo-fi with melodic collages of a wide range of styles and genres, performed with turntables, fat synthesizers and voice. In 2020, she made a complete remix album, Brutal Remix, with sixteen remixes by different performers.
Since 2013, Camilla Sparksss has performed in over 400 live shows in Europe, North Africa, Canada and the United States, in places of entertainment, theatres and festivals, such as Kilbi festival, La Machine Du Moulin Rouge, Holland Festival, Eurosonic, Centre Culturel Suisse in Paris, and many others.
In 2016, she was nominated for the Swiss Music Prize with her post punk band Peter Kernel. She is also the co-founder of the Swiss independent label On The Camper Records.
Her latest audiovisual album is titled Camilla Sparksss Lullabies and combines animated vinyls and melodic bedtime stories for adults, entirely composed with endless grooves, mellotron and spoken words.
